Every sin has a price and Jesus paid it in full. The Day of Atonement was a ritual that the Jewish people would perform for the atonement of their sins once a year before Jesus came. It required a spotless sacrifice. Year after year, to cover what could never be erased on its own. Then Christ came as the final offering. After following Jesus for while, I have noticed that it can become easy to lean on our own "goodness" in ways we don't even realize. This is most exposed when we mess up or make a bad choice, then deal heavily with condemnation. Romans 8:1 reminds us that condemnation is not from the Lord. Furthermore. He later tells up in Hebrew 9:14 that He will actually wipe our mind clean of it. So no more shame!
