Matcha

I miss outdoors. My soul was craving that fresh green grass and the smell of earth and ancient trees. But my schedule had other plans and I knew my desire to walk in an exotic forest was not going to happen. At least not today. I grabbed a bag of this fresh green matcha and made a cup according to a recipe I found online .The jade colored foam always draws my eye to the beauty of drink itself. It smelled of steamed spinach, roasted nuts and ocean air.

One sip and I was transported to the sun covered rolling hills. Like green waves towards the horizon.  A rich umami flavor of a concentrated broth with sweet peas and white chocolate balanced the controlled bitterness. The sugary coolness flavor lingered after the sip was gone.

I felt my soul revive. Like I had just stepped barefoot on some soft grass. Or had a hike in an overgrown vine filled forest. I marveled that I was able to fit my outdoor activity in my schedule after all. Or at least the essence of it. This is exactly what I needed for my body and my heart.
