Coffee is love. And we've secretly thought it should have it's own category in the five love languages for awhile now. Mornings can feel lonely before the rest of the world wakes up. It's just you, an alarm you're a little mad at, and if you're like me, a pet that is demanding attention. Many times, the coffee in my cup has been a tangible way to connect with nearness of God on such mornings. It's a tangible reminder that we're not alone. That just like your morning coffee comforts, He is our Comforter. I pray this blend reminds you that you are loved, never alone, and seen even when you're sleepy and mad at your less than desirable wakeup time.
The steam from the cup of Love in my mug is pure comfort. Smells slightly of baker's chocolate and dark molasses, with an undercurrent of warm caramel and toasted brown sugar. With a faint, earthy spice that lingers at the edge. The first sip is bold. Almost like a dominating liquid dark chocolate flavor. But somehow still smooth. The flavor melts into a rich complex molasses sweetness. The acidity is low and gentle. Not sharp. The aftertaste moves into this rich caramelized brown sugar crust that has you reaching for the next sip. Almost before fully swallowing your last.
In this moment, He is with you. As you choose to do those hard things the day brings, may the Lord direct all of your steps. And may you enter into His rest and ability to make all things work for good on your behalf. He loves you and He is proud of you. Sometimes the reminder in your cup is just a way that He says to us. "I see you. I am with you, And I love you".
"Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us, to Him by glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen." Ephesians 3:20-21
