Sweet Sanity

For the days when our brain wakes up before our eyes. When things come at us with all of the energy and urgency of a pack of toddlers with reminders and to do's like our day is a gmail account and it's the week of black friday. There is Sweet Sanity

 Sweet Sanity smells like bold bittersweet chocolate with a warm syrupy sweet molasses. Caramelized toasted brown sugar mixed in a faint earthiness. At first sip, the intense flavor of 70% dark chocolate is the strongest taste. Wrapped around it, is this think slow burning molasses sweetness. There is a gentle brightness of ripe fruit cutting through the richness with a brown sugar flavor lingering into a crisp dry ending. Long after the sip is gone, is a fading warmth of baker's spice. 

Just like we pour our morning coffee, we pour our day before the Lord. We allow Him to order it the way it needs to happen. We ask for His guidance in what He finds priority. And It often looks very different then our brain's list.

Then the peace of His presence settles in. The anxiety flies away. And we are left with this suddenly manageable day filled with grace. It says in the Word that the steps of the righteous are ordered by the Lord.. (Psalm 37:23). But  that doesn't happen automatically. We have to intentionally invite Him to order our steps and prioritize our day. Every time we start that way, our day becomes an entirely different. And we are no longer in panic scramble mode. Instead we are moving from a place of His grace. 

"You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You" Isaiah 26:3
